Screening: Demons in Paradise  |  10/19/2018 - 19:00

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director.

05/03/2018 - 20:00

Birds Crossing Borders Khadija Baker Interactive presentation free For refugees and people who seek safety, borders are critical as they are essential to access this feeling. Safety will then shift according to the lived experiences of the past place, especially ones that are violent, and especially for those who have lived it. Borders are less relevant not because they are crossed but because the place is not at the center anymore: it is access to society, and to connect, which allow feelings of certainty that usually come with feelings of belonging. A live performance to tell...  - Montréal Monochrome VI: Sanctuary City? | Discussion and Workshops

DEAVANAH/دیـــــــــــــــوانـــه remembers an event that occurred in the past, in one language, as it unfolds in the present, in another. The two are only ever consolidated in the state of lunacy, while the deav (demon) in deavanah (lunatic) attests to the right of the alien to bestiality. Gelare Khoshgozaran is an interdisciplinary artist and writer working across video-installation, performance and writing. Born and raised in Tehran and living in Los Angeles, she envisions the city as an imaginary space between asylum as 'the protection granted to a political refugee' and 'a...  - Gelare Khoshgozaran | Special projects

MIRROR : MIROIR articule Members’ Show 2018 Mirror mirror, tell me... Who is articule? Over the past few years, the members of articule have been reflecting on the practice of art-making as well as on the practice of self-reflection in the context of marginalisation. In the spirit of initiating an exercise of collective discussion, the theme of articule's 2018 Members' Exhibition will focus on self-reflection as well as a reflection of the...  - MIROIR : MIRROR | Exhibitions
