It is with great pleasure that articule invites you to the opening reception of our 2019 members' show, Friday March 1st, 7 pm.

Free and open to all.

Place is both a definable physical area and an action we take. How can it be a beginning for our conversations and our practices?

For this exhibition, participants were invited to imagine articule as a meeting place which is both implicated in territorial loss and which provides a space for dreaming and refusal. Workshop: Cultural Mediation as an Accessibility, Promotion and Awareness Tool in an Artist-run Centre

What is cultural mediation? Where can we apply it?

This workshop aims to understand cultural mediation and how and where it can be applied, and will consist of two parts. The first will aim to collectively think about the concept of cultural mediation and its different contributions in the context of an artists' centre. For the second part, members of articule will be invited to come with their projects for a one-on-one consultation where reflections will be presented to develop a proposal for cultural mediation adapted to artistic intentions.

- Free and open to all

- Workshop given in French with whispered translation to English available

It is with great pleasure that articule invites you to the discussion between the artists of Memories and Portraits by Kama La Mackerel (Montréal), Pascha Marrow (Montréal), and Logan MacDonald (Toronto)

Kama La Mackerel is a multi-disciplinary artist, writer, educator and cultural mediator who hails from Mauritius and now lives in Montreal. Their work is grounded in the exploration of justice, love, healing, decoloniality, and self- and collective-empowerment. Kama's artistic practive spans across textile, visual, digital, poetic and performative work, and is at once narrotological and theoretical, at once personal and political. A firm believer that aesthetic practives have the power to build resilience, to heal, and to act as forms of resistance to the status quo, Kama...

What does dance want is a question wrapped in the study of what we call ‘floor’ and that asks over and over again not where nor when the earth begins, but what does dance want, what do I owe the honour of its visit,...  - Research Residency for Curators of Colour and/or Indigenous Curators | Salon Dansant | Special projects
