Our upcoming General Assembly which will take place on Saturday, March 3 from 1 - 4 pm at articule, 262 Fairmount West in Montreal.

This year we are very pleased to welcome Kama La Mackerel, who will give a talk on anti-oppression in the context of artist-run centres and facilitate the discussion. A discussion on the approval of a Basis of Unity document for articule is also on the agenda. The Basis of Unity is the result of the Fabulous Committee’s commitment to anti-oppression and equity at articule. The document is available for members to read, review, and contribute.

articule General Assemblies are open to the public.

There will be a warm meal provided.

Everyone is welcome! articule's gallery and bathroom are partially wheelchair accessible.

How can visual art practices record and conserve the movement of the human body in space? Featuring the work of seven artists, Art Crush in Time focuses on the performative nature of mark making. Through the exploration of a variety of notational systems in painting, sculpture and performance, the exhibition informs a corporeal understanding of human movement in places. The pieces selected reveal an emotional analysis of the dialogue between the body and the spatial constructions around it. By offering an intimate experience to the viewer, some artworks also visualize how built environments contain and direct behaviour in public social spaces. The gallery is thus presented as a liminal place seeking a balance between individual constructivism, mark-making as a recording device,...
